Altea: the coast, old center and Altea Hills

The coastal town of Altea consists of three parts: the coast, old town and the urbanization Altea Hills. Along the coast, you will find a large boulevard with many restaurants, bars, shops and a yachting marina close to the beaches. In the streets behind the marina you will mainly find apartments, some lovely shops with a good assortment of home decoration, fashion,  as well as the popular tourist gift shops.

Altea Hills

The urbanizations of Altea are situated west of the highway. In general, the villas are located approximately 10 to 20 minutes by car from the beaches and the center of town. Most hotels, apartments and luxury villas in Altea Hills are built with beautiful sea views. We recommend checking the route to the beach or the center before you go, because it can be quite a bit further than it seems at first glance.

Tourist Attraction

The old center, Altea Vella, is situated on a hill where you will also find the Senora del Consuelo church. The church is characterized by its blue domes. Right in front of the church there is a nice square with terraces providing a stunning view over the town and the coastline: from the rock of Ifach in Calpe to Benidorm. Definitely worth a visit! Please be aware that it can be very busy at times. We recommend that you visit the shops before 14:00 or after 17:00, as most shop owners still treasure their siestas.
